The Glyn Learning Foundation

Welcome to your PTA

•Danetree Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a group of parents and carers that raise valuable funds to support the school via fund raising events and initiatives. You can help support the PTA in lots of ways by helping to run our events or just turning up and supporting them

•The PTA has meetings where everyone is welcome to join, suggest ideas and lend a hand and suggest how you think funds should be spent.
•The PTA is a great way to have fun, make new friends and help with events that support our school and the education of the children
•All help and support with our events makes a huge difference, whether helping organise, execute or support by attending

•Look out for our PTA newsletters and Facebook page ‘Danetree Friends’.

We look forward to getting to know you!

Funds raised by the PTA are intended to provide ‘extras’ that are NOT already provided by the school's main income – often it is 'fun things' that make learning more interesting and exciting.

•Last year we contributed £11,000 to the Schools wish list.
•Common items included Library refurbishment, Phase 1 of quad area garden project, and the year 6 Honour’s boards..
•Smaller purchases such as presents for Father Christmas to distribute, wet play games for class rooms. Games for outdoor play, the Year 6 leavers disco which was fully funded by PTA included photobooth, snacks, DJ, leaving present- year book on a usb sticks, subsidized part of the year 6 leavers hoodies, library books from scholastics credits, year 3 book area books from scholastics credits and reindeer on Christmas extravaganza day.
•We now have 2 extra Year groups to raise funds for this year, Nursery and Reception so the funds we raise need to increase to sustain this. Plus we are working on adapting our events to incorperate Early Years.

•Encourage your work/businesses to get involved through Easy Fundraising OR Match fundraising. Match giving or match funding is a simple way of maximising the fundraising efforts of your individual volunteers. It is an informal arrangement between a company and their employee. Not all companies offer match funding but those that do will pledge a sum of money relating to the amount their employee has raised for or donated to the charity of their choice. Some organisations will match fund on a £ for £ basis, others will stipulate what they are prepared to give.

•Class Rep: Help spread the word on PTA news/events to all parents/carers in your class, ensure your class knows about all events and give them the opportunity to get involved

•Support PTA events! It’s as easy as just turning up! Even if you don’t have time to help organise or set up, your support through attendance is invaluable
•We are all ears! All ideas are good ideas, if you have an idea in mind that will help raise money for the school then tell us about it
•A Great way to support us if you're a busy working parent is the 100 CLUB as you are contributing every month without having to do anything AND you could win a prize!
•Some of the roles are time-consuming, although also VERY rewarding. If you can’t commit to a big job, look out for things you can do less frequently (e.g. running a stall, book fairs or baking for a cake sale).
•You can always support PTA events by simply TURNING UP

The PTA Danetree Draw is a lottery with a draw at the end of every half term, half the ticket money goes to the PTA fundraising and the other half is split into 2 prizes.

If your number is drawn, you win! Numbers must be paid for in advance £10 for the whole year (October 2018-July 2019) on Parentpay.

There is no limit to the number of tickets you can buy – the more tickets you have, the more chance of winning – but you must be a parent or member of staff to buy tickets.

It’s a great way to contribute to the PTA!

The more people who enter, the larger the prize, so go on, what are you waiting for?
