Royal ball for Danetree pupils

More than 100 little princes and princesses will be wearing their royal finery for the special ball on Friday, October 20 when Cinderella and Prince Charming may even make a special appearance. The ugly sisters are almost certainly going to cause havoc during the event. Nine members of staff will also be donning their ball gowns to join the fun which includes a royal feast.

The ball has been organised by teacher Sarah Arnold who said it was the perfect way to mark the end of a classroom topic all about story telling at Danetree, part of the multi-academy GLF Trust.

Pupils have been sharing their favourite stories and looking at traditional tales from Jack and the Beanstalk to Cinderella and The Three Little Pigs.

“Princes and princesses will come from afar to witness the trying-on of Cinderella’s slipper and participate in a royal feast and dance. Watch out for the ugly sisters who will cause havoc and mischief,” said Miss Arnold.

“It is a fun way to bring a topic to a close and the ball will give the children an event to remember,” she added.
