Jenny Jeffcoat_web Mrs J Jeffcoat (Ordinary Governor) 
Chair of Governors 
Worked in various primary schools in Australia and the UK, Jenny’s last position before retiring was Head Teacher at Whyteleafe School. As well as taking on leadership roles over her teaching career, she has had a special interest in literature, creative curriculum, PE and Special Needs (Jenny has held the position of SENCO). Since retiring Jenny has taken on various volunteering positions and is a member of Epsom Golf Club and the Tate. She also enjoys travel, reading and looking after her grandson.
Gary Hunnisett

Mr G Hunnisett (Ordinary Governor)
Vice Chair of Governors
Gary has headed up new business development for Smart Training for the last 18 months. Prior to that he spent three years as Head of Operations and 10 years as a Business Development Manager serving major blue chip companies in the food and drink retail sector. During this time, Gary spent three years working on a half a billion dollar start up company, gaining a unique insight enabling him to support any new business. To support him with his roles he completed a two year senior management course and MBA level, supported by Mars, BMW and several Government bodies. He has a strong proven record of: investing in people linked to reward and recognition, driving change through strategic planning, developing a true customer focused business, maximising sales through targeted marketing and competitor analysis. 

Paul Williams_web Mr P Williams (Co-opted Governor)
Paul Williams has been a Parent Governor at Danetree since 2011. He has two children, one who has just left Danetree and one who has just joined! Paul is a Programme Manager in a Telecoms company and works in London. He really enjoys being a governor and is passionate in wanting Danetree’s children to reach their potential at the school and enjoy the time they are with us.
 
Mr Rob Hopkins

 

Mr R Hopkins (Staff Governor)                                                                                   Rob has been working at Danetree Primary School since 2014 having been Year Group Leader and more recently, Assistant Headteacher. Having worked in previous schools in Croydon, Sutton and Hertfordshire, Rob brings a range of expertise to his role as staff Governor- particularly in relation to data and pupil attainment. Sport has many physical benefits for children in schools and Rob prides himself have the opportunity to inspire and help young people get active and participate in sport. Not only does he run the school football teams, Rob also runs his own U16 football team in Raynes Park in his own time. He is also a keen sportsman himself, competing in National Karting Championships whenever he has a spare weekend. Rob is currently working towards his NPQSL National Accreditation and this is his second year as one of our  two staff Governors.

 

C Dodd Mrs C Dodd (Ordinary Governor)
For the past ten years Cathy has taught A-level Law at Glyn School. She was a staff governor for the last four years. Recently retired, Cathy is passionate about education and inspiring everyone to be the best they can possibly be. She is very excited to be joining the Governing Body at a time when there is change in Education Policies and welcomes the challenge involved in Primary Education particularly as she has just become a grandmother to George, her first grandchild.
 
Mr J Broad Mr J Broad (Headteacher)
James considers it his privilege to lead Danetree Junior School as the Headteacher and Governor. He has worked in both the maintained sector and independent sector in Surrey and Kent and has a passion for getting the best out of children, whatever their talents may be. Before a career in education, James was a scuba diving instructor and strives for excellence in sport by providing a range of opportunities for children. He places great importance on being a learner himself and is currently undertaking an MA Education.
 
Jo Humbertson Ms J Humberston (Parent Governor)
Ms Joanna Humberston has just been elected to join the governing body of Danetree School as a parent governor. She currently has a son in Year 5, and her youngest son will be joining Year 3 in September 2016. Having spent her professional life in secondary education, she is currently involved in the delivery of modern foreign languages in the primary sector in several schools and is overwhlemed by the enthusiasm and the motivation of the youngest learners. Since her son joined Danetree in 2013, the nurturing of curiosity and a deep-rooted love of learning have unreservedly impressed her. She attributes this to the refreshing, innovative vision of the school; ensuring that the themed learning is purposeful, creative, kinesthetic and enjoyable for all and she looks forward to being involved as Danetree enters its exciting new phase. Her interests include music, drama, and dance.
 
Mrs Olivia Chaffe

Mrs O Chaffe (Staff Governor)
Olivia attended Danetree as a pupil from 1996-2000, and was surprised but pleased to find herself back in the school as an NQT in 2013!  Prior to this, she trained at London Theatre School, working professionally in theatre and as a peripatetic drama and dance teacher. During her time at Danetree Olivia has taught primarily in Year 6 and particularly enjoys working with this age group. She joined the Leadership Team in 2015, taking on the role of Maths Leader. She is passionate about ensuring that all children develop a deep understanding of mathematics, and promoting confidence and engagement with the subject.
