GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Spring Clubs 2024

Please contact the school office if you would like to join one of our clubs, or join the waiting list if the club you wish to attend is already full.

Please note that teacher led clubs don't usually run on first and last week of term, unless communicated otherwise.

Teacher led clubs in Spring term 2024 will run from w/c Monday 8th January 2024 through to Friday 22nd March 2024.

 

Spring Club Blurbs 2024

Dance Club

Club Leader: Mrs Edwards and Miss Thorne

Day and time: Wednesday 7:45 - 8:30 am

Location: Hall

Available to: Years 3 - 6

Drop off point: KS2 Gate

 

Do you love performing?

Do you want to become part of a supportive, creative dance group?

Over Spring and Summer term, we will be learning a dance routine to perform it at the Epsom Dance Festival in Summer!

If you want to be part of a magical group, come and join!

Netball Club

Club Leader: Miss McCarthy and Miss Whitfield

Day and time: Monday 3:15 - 4:00 pm

Location: Tennis Courts

Available to: Years 4, 5 and 6

Do you want to become part of a group that improves their team-building skills?

Do you want to be part of a supportive team?

By embedding our skills and knowledge, we will be working towards competing in matches with other schools in the borough as well as thinking tactically about the game.

When competing against other teams, it can only be Year 5 and 6 who compete in the matches.

Phonics Club

Club Leader: Mrs Brick

Day and time: Monday 3:15 - 4:00 pm

Location: Beetles

Available to: Reception and Year 1

Collection point: Early Years Gate

 

Do you love Fred the frog? Then this is the club for you! 

Come along and play some phonics games with Fred, your friends and Mrs Brick. We will have fun reading real and nonsense words and practise our sounds at the same time!

We will follow the principles of Read Write Inc but in a fun and more informal way. Open to children who might want a little extra help or those who just love phonics!

Come along and have fun with some Fred talk!

Wake Up, Shake Up Club

Club Leader: Mrs Dryland

Day and time: Thursday 7:45 – 8:30 am

Location: Nursery Butterflies

Available to: Reception and KS1

Drop off point: Early Years Gate

Would you like to ‘wake up, shake up’ with friends before school?

Join us on Thursday mornings to get energised before school! We will warm up with some gentle yoga, before enjoying learning some new songs and dance moves.

 

Board Game Club

Do you want to come and have some creative fun after school? This club is a chance to be creative, imaginative, artistic and to learn some new drawing/Art skills.

The amazing thing about Art is that there is no right or wrong answer! A chance to express yourself, relax and smile.

Fine Motor Club

Let’s use our funky fingers to practise and develop our important fine motor skills, whilst interacting with our friends and having fun each week!

Join our club and perfect your skills with threading, tracing, cutting and so much more, to enable us to become even more confident when using a pencil and writing.

Eleven Plus

This club is designed to prepare those children who are wanting to sit the 11 plus exams.

They will explore the different knowledge concepts needed to hopefully be successful!

British Sign Language Club

Would you like to learn how to spell your name using British Sign Language?

Come along and have some fun learning to sign. We’ll learn the alphabet in sign language as well as some animals, colours, the weather and so much more!

We’ll even sing some songs and use sign language alongside our singing.
